Dr. Lynn Webster is a Senior Fellow, Center for U.S. Policy (CUSP). Like PainScript, CUSP has an interest in conducting research to improve access to, and outcomes for, people with substance use disorders. Dr. Webster lectures extensively, has authored more than 300 academic publications, and has conducted hundreds of clinical trials. Dr. Webster earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Nebraska and completed his residency in the University of Utah’s Department of Anesthesiology. He is board certified in anesthesiology, pain medicine, and addiction medicine.
A senior editor of Pain Medicine, Dr. Webster serves as a peer reviewer of several professional journals and is a National Institute of Health grant reviewer. He is a past president of the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM). Dr. Webster is the author of The Painful Truth: What Chronic Pain Is Really Like and Why It Matters to Each of Us (Oxford University Press) and co-producer of the video documentary, "The Painful Truth," that has aired on Public Broadcasting stations throughout the United States. He lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife.
